[Ferro-alloys.com] Cored wire market price was still stable in China last week. In Henan province, ex-work price of Ca98%min∮9㎜ pure calcium wire stayed around RMB 12200/mt (USD 2033/mt) . Ex-work price of Ca28Si55∮13㎜ CaSi wire stayed at RMB 9800-10000/mt. Ex-work price of C98%∮13㎜ carbon stayed at  RMB 4600-4800/mt.Manufacturers could only break even. As downstream demand was weak, operation became worse.

Strip steel price was stable last week. In Henan and Shandong province, the major production areas of strip steel, mainstream ex-work price of 0.35*55 strip steel stayed around RMB 4400-4500/mt.

According to our investigation, in metallurgical industry, calcium smelting craft is similar to magnesium smelting. The difference is that limestone control requirement is stricter in Mg smelting. Due to this similarity, many Mg enterprises produce Ca metal at the same time. For example, Yinguang Magnesium Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. mainly produces Mg metal and Mg products. It is also the largest Ca metal manufacturer of China. Qinghai Fengrui Magnesium Co.，Ltd. mainly produces and sells Mg metal. Meanwhile, it could produce 10,000 mt of Ca metal every year. Hebi Victory Metal Co., Ltd and Hebi Changhong Magnesium Co.,Ltd could both produce Mg metal and Ca metal.

Steel market would still be weak in the short term. Cored market price would be stable but operation might become worse this week.
