[Ferro-Alloys.com] In recent period, there was no big movement on Chinese manganese ore spot market though some traders attempting to push up offers. It is reported that high grade Austrilian sand ore and South African lump ore already saw tight supply in parts of ports in China, resulting in roughly RMB0.3-0.5/mtu up.
At present, Australian Mn46 lumps are currently quoted at RMB33.5-34/mtu and RMB33.5-34/mt for Mn48 sand ore. Price of Gabonese Mn 45-46 lumps are now lingered about RMB31.5-32/mtu while RMB30.5-31.5/mtu for Brazilian Mn 44-45 lumps. Meanwhile, South African Mn38 lumps are pricing at RMB29-29.5/mtu while RMB32.5-33.5/mtu for Mn32%Fe20%.
As improved running situation for manganese alloys, some ore traders indicated that imported manganese ore spot market would likely to be on track to pick up if ore supply failed to show dramatic expand later. In fact, given inventory pressure for ore is still great, it seems that prices of spot ore tend to hold steady in short period.
