[Ferro-alloys.com] At the beginning of late August, there were only two large steel mills releasing bids for ferrosilicon for September delivery in China. This week massive bids from other large steel mills including Shagang Group and HBIS hadn’t occurred, yet. FeSi producers had unchanged operation rate and kept flat their quotations.

In terms of specific main production regions, there were signs of restarting production owing to some stimulating measures by local government in Inner Mongolia, residual heat power generation was still in hot construction in Qinghai and the new or expansion projects were in the process of gradual operation in Ningxia. Spot ferrosilicon materials were still in tight status in China, which indicated there might be increase on the purchase prices of ferrosilicon for September.
