[Ferro-Alloys.com] The US International Trade Commission voted on Wednesday that the domestic industry was not injured by imports of grain-oriented electrical steel from Japan, Germany and Poland, and as a result, no antidumping orders will be imposed.
In July, the US Department of Commerce made final affirmative determinations for these countries.
Japan's Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal and JFE Steel received a 172.3% dumping margin, and the "all others" rate for Japan was 93.36%. Commerce found Germany's ThyssenKrupp Electrical Steel received a 241.91% dumping margin, and the rate for all other German producers and exporters is 133.7%. Poland's Stalprodukt received a 99.51% dumping margin, and the "all others" rate is 78.10%.
AK Steel, Allegheny Ludlum and the United Steelworkers union petitioned for the investigations on September 18, 2013. The petitioners also filed for antidumping investigations of grain-oriented electrical steel from the Czech Republic, China, Russia and South Korea and a countervailing investigation for China. Commerce will announce final determinations the Czech Republic on September 23 and the others on September 25, a Commerce spokesman confirmed.
