[Ferro-Alloys.com] In late August, calcium silicon market in China was stable with inactive transactions. Now the prices were the lowest since 2009. In order to keep market share, factories with big pressure continued to work, ignoring few profits. About 9 big CaSi stoves and some little stoves were working and CaSi was in excess of demand.
Until the end of August, quotations were as follows: CaSi30# were RMB10,300-10,400/mt (USD1,677-1,690/mt) in Shaanxi, RMB10,000-10,200/mt (USD1,628-1,661/mt) in Ningxia, RMB10,400-10,500/mt (USD1,690-1,706/mt) in Inner Mongolia and RMB10,500-10,600/mt (USD1,706-1,726/mt) in Henan. Prices of CaSi28# were RMB100-200/mt (USD16-32/mt) lower than CaSi30#. Export prices of CaSi30# to India were USD 2,070-2,090/mt FOB.
If CaSi was in excess of demand like this in September , CaSi price would keep low.
