[Ferro-alloys.com] According to our survey recently, manganese briquette lost export advantage gradually since China government cancelled export tariff on manganese flake. Market demand for manganese briquette still existed, but alternative pressure from manganese flake increased significantly. According to a latest report released in Hong Kong Exchanges, CITIC Dameng Mining Industries Ltd (CITIC Dameng) sold only 4,427 mt of manganese briquette in the first half of 2014, down 16.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, its annual capacity of manganese briquette was more than 30,000 mt. Mainstream export price of manganese briquette dropped to the level of manganese flake. As production cost of manganese briquette was higher than manganese flake, its market share might continue to decrease.
