Ferro Silicon prices gain marginally on the ground of stronger buying activity. Market sources assume prices to remain stable and perhaps strengthen in the coming month.

Ferro Silicon prices in Bhutan rise because of decent end-user demand. 70-75 grade is being offered at around INR 78,000/MT (ex-Bhutan). Export offers remain unchanged and deals were concluded in the range of USD 1,390-1,400/MT CIF Germany & Italy.

“We have seen sharp rise in inquiries from  past few days and so, the prices have risen in the market owing to higher activity,” remarked a Bhutanese producer.

In Indian market, Ferro Silicon prices have increased marginally, and sources reported of good demand. 70-75 grade is being traded at INR 76,000/MT (ex-Guwahati). Indian producers reported of supply crunch in the market. Along with this, there is good demand from Indian Stainless Steel foundries.

A Meghalaya based producer stated, “Demand in the domestic market is picking up and so, there has been a rise in prices, equally supported by supply tightness in the market”.
