At middle of Sept., Japanese spot price for Indian origin high-carbon Ferro Chrome is at 89-91 cents/lb CIF Japan, up from 87-89 cents/lb last week and rising for second consecutive week due to a decline in spot supply.
An Indian producer reported a sale at 90-91 cents/lb CIF Japan for 500 MT of lumpy material sized 10-50 mm, with 60% chrome, 2-4% silicon and 8-9% carbon content for October loading from Vishakhapatnam.
Deals at 89 cents/lb CIF Japan may be possible as some Indian suppliers are suffering from low Chinese import prices, but the market was no longer at 88 cents/lb, reported market sources.
