Despite high water season in south area, there are only a few of large scale of manganese alloy factories maintaining normal running. In fact, apart from manganese ore, power price also served as a key factor to decide the company operations and profitability.

As high energy-consuming enterprises, producing a ton of silico-manganese need to consume 4000 kWh of electricity, so in addition to the cost of manganese ore, electricity has become the key point to control costs. In terms of power aspect, it is obviously that those with a captive power plant, waste heat power generation project or government subsidies would have more advantage than others. Given as high as hundard Yuans cost gap from power between south area and north area , the situation for alloy companies would also different.
