[Ferro-Alloys.com]According to China Customs data, China’s import volume of nickel ore in Sept. 2014 is 4.64 million tonnes, down 14% compared to 5.42 million tonnes in Aug and down 30% compared to 6.68 million tonnes in the same period last year. 37,000 tonnes of nickel ore was from Indonesia according to the data, which remained the same level between 35,000 tonnes and 40,000 tonnes in May-Sept. 4.52 million tonnes of nickel ore was from Philippines, down 15% compared to Aug and up 27% compared to 3.56 million tonnes in the same period last year. The miners reduced the production due to the monsoon season, but the output of nickel ore increased compared to the same period last year. The sales of nickel ore in Philippines will remain a low level in Nov. 2014-Mar. 2015.
