[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to statistic of The Japan Iron & Steel Federation, Japan ferroalloy production in 2014 obviously dropped down.
In 2013, Japan’s ferroalloy production maintained at 70-80 thousand tons while it dropped to 30-40 thousand tons when it came to 2014. The total production in 2013 was 938 thousand tons, up by 3.3% Y-O-Y. In Jan-Sep, 2014, the total production was 334 thousand tons, only at a half level of 2013.
According to Japan Customs statistic, the import and export volumes of ferroalloys in Jan-Sep 2014 were at 1,392,787 tons and 180,437 tons, respectively up by 11.5% and 11.6%. The net import volume was at 1,212,350 tons, up by 11.6%.
Therefore, the ferroalloy consumption in Jan-Sep 2014 was 1.5463 million tons, down by 12.6% Y-O-Y.
