REC Silicon produced 4,872 mt of polysilicon (Siemens and granular) in the second quarter of 2011 and 9,262 mt in the first half of 2011 vs. 2,854 mt and 5,911 mt, respectively, in the same 2010 periods. Second-quarter sales were 4,807 mt and first-half sales were 8,7645 mt. First-quarter 2011 output was 4,390 mt and sales were 3,958 mt.
Of the total production, solar- and electronic grade polysilicon was 4,333 mt in the second quarter of 2011 and 8,313 mt in the first half of 2011 vs. 2,474 mt and 4,915 mt, respectively, in the same 2010 periods. The yield of solar grade polysilicon from the FBR reactors ended at 87%, broadly in line with the previous quarter.
