[Ferro-alloys.com]This week the LME nickel price fluctuated between USD13500-14500/mt. on Mar.12th, LME Ni closed at USD14015/mt, down by USD155/mt than last week while the nickel stock decreased by 588tons to 430854tons. On Mar.13th, Jinchuan 1# nickel was quoted at RMB104200-104500/mt, decreased by RMB650/mt.

Even though the low FeNi operating rate in China decreased, the supply was not tight. Adding to the falling price of low grade nickel ores, the low FeNi Price declined to RMB2550-2600/mt, RMB50/mt lower compared with last week.

This week the medium and high FeNi price stayed stable as medium FeNi (Ni4-6%) was at RMB1010-1030/Ni, FeNi (Ni6-8%) at RMB1000-1020/Ni, and high FeNi (Ni10-15%) was RMB1030-1050/Ni. The import FeNi was favored by the steel mills with its nice price. However, the import volume was still low despite of its rise in 2015. According to the data, in Jan. 2015, China imported 52thousand tons FeNi, rise by 22thousand tons year on year wile it was acknowledged that the environmental inspection in Shandong, China in Mar. would resulting in 50-60thousand tons of high FeNi reduction. Under this condition, this environmental inspection would bring some support to the FeNi price while the poor condition of stainless steel still hinder the price rise.
