[Ferro-Alloys.com]JISCO, Baosteel and Tsingshan released their tender prices for high-carbon ferrochrome in April. JISCO and Tsingshan remained a rollover from previous month, while Tsingshan lowered its price and cut its purchase, which created a same tender price for all of the three companies. Domestic prices of high-carbon ferrochrome kept strong during the previous month, but the new tender prices have failed the producers’ expectation of a rise in the prices. One is because of the stainless steel prices are still in the downtrend, which left no support for the mills to increase the purchasing prices. On the other hand, imported high-carbon prices remained more competitive in the prices, which urged the mills to purchase more for the sake of low costs, and the imported high-carbon ferrochrome increased its market share in China.
