Assmang Limited, South Africa has recently announced the progress situation and future schedule for Sakura Ferroalloys Project, a manganese-containing ferroalloy production business the Company is proceeding with in Sarawaku, Malaysia. According to this, as far as the facilities are concerned, the facilities related to raw materials will be completed in September this year, and the initial firing will take place during October to December for Furnace 1 and during January to March next year for Furnace 2. The schedule for others is : (1)This May: Order for raw materials is to be placed. Recruiting work of personnels continues. (2)June: Commencement to use HT yard. Electricity begins to be received from Sarawaku Energy Bhd (SEB). (3)July: First raw materials are to arrive at Bintulu Port. (4)August: First raw materials are to arrive at site. Operating team is on site. (5)September: Commissioning of raw material section. (6)Production will reach a full scale during April to June in 2016. What's more, the comments on the progress situation of the entire project are as follows. 1.Time schedule is tight, but attainable. 2.The development of Samalaju Port is going on as scheduled, and Bintulu Port will be used until Samalaju port becomes workable. 3.Investment incentive finished. 4.Electricity supply from SEB is as planned. 5.Training of operating team is going on as scheduled. |
