Flux Cored Wires are self-shielded wires that find usage in providing single as well as multi-pass welding. The welding support can be provided on mild as well as medium and high tensile steels in all positions including in vertical up and overhead choices. Further, the deposit also works suitably as buffer under higher hardness deposits, thus making these ideally suited for on-site welding. These can be run on constant current flux cored arc welding wire feeders as well as in MIG machines.
Coming with alloy base of Fe, C, Mn, some of its special features include:
Do not require shielding gas
Finding suitability for flat as well as drooping power sources
Applications:
Maintenance and repair of field equipment
In joining of MS & carbon manganese steel as well as cast & forged steel components
Suitable for providing site welding support to general and structural steel work
Prior to hard facing, these are suitable for buffering difficult positions at high deposition rates
