[Ferro-Alloys.com] Ferrous nickel price maintained at a low level, but weak demand makes little transactions in the market. Low-grade ferronickel 1.6-1.8% priced at 1550-1600yuan/t, a decrease of 20yuan/t; mid-grade ferronickel 4-6% priced at 720-730yuan/nickel; mid-grade ferronickel 6-8% priced at 710-720yuan/nickel; high-grade ferronickel 10-15% priced at 710-720yuan/nickel.

Tsingshan group may have no willingness to purchase high-grade ferronickel until the year end because firstly the company has equipped with furnaces and has developed projects in Indonesia, secondly previous long-term orders with the nearby factories are still supplying cargos, and thirdly steel output has been partly decreased. As an alternative raw material of steel making, ferronickel tend to be replaced by other nickel products when nickel price dropped into a historical low cycle.
