[Fellow]According to the import statistics of Taiwan, the import volume of major ferroalloys in the full year 2015 (January - December) was 702,962 tons, down by 2.1% from 717,761 tons in the prior year.

According to the import statistics of Taiwan, the import volume of major ferroalloys in the full year 2015 (January - December) was 702,962 tons, down by 2.1% from 717,761 tons in the prior year.

This was as a result of decreased imports of high-carbon ferro-manganese, ferro-silicon (Si>55%) and silico manganese stemming from the production volume of crude steel being down by 7.1% from the prior year.

On the other hand, the import of ferro-nickel among the main ferroalloys was up because the warehousing volume into LME designated warehouses in Taiwan in 2015 was up in addition to the used amount and purchase volume of ferro-nickel being more than stainless steel scraps due to the slumping LME nickel price.

For a reference, the import volume of ferroalloys in December was 52,862 tons, down by 3.7% from the prior month.

The import volume by item is as shown in the table below.
