[Ferro-Alloys.com]India's largest producer of manganese MOILBSE 1.38 % clocked a production of 7.45 lakh tonnes during the first nine months of the fiscal.
"During financial year 2015-16, the production of manganese ore was 7.45 lakh tonnes up to the month of December," Steel Ministry said today.
The public sector undertaking achieved a total income of Rs 612.76 crore up to December and earned a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 151.61 crore during the same period, it added.
Yesterday, the mini-ratna firm presented a cheque of Rs 36.07 crore as interim dividend to the government.
MOIL (formerly Manganese Ore India Ltd) had declared an interim dividend of Rs 3 per share for the 2015-16 fiscal.
Last week, the state-run firm had said Madhya Pradesh government granted mining lease of over 48.97 hectares in Balaghat district.
At present, MOIL operates 10 mines, 6 in Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra and four in Balaghat district of Maharashtra and four in Balaghat district of MP.
MOIL's annual production is around 1,093,363 tonnes.
Shares of the firm were trading at Rs 230.40, up 0.94 per cent in the pre-close session on BSE.
