According to the United States Commerce Department data released in February 2016, United States steel imports totaled 2.01 million tons, down by 40.4% year on year, fell for 11 straight months.

Among them, all steel product imports fell, except for wire rod and steel, especially for semi-finished products fell sharply by 83.4% year on year; steel pipe and plate also down by 50% year on year. 

Latest statistics showed in March this year, United States steel import licenses totaled 1.976 million tons, and it is expected United States March steel imports will remain stable month on month, will continue to fall sharply year on year.
