[Ferro-Alloys.com]ASSMANG Proprietary Limited, a joint venture of African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) and Assore Limited, has announced the successful commissioning of the first of its two furnaces located in Sarawak, Malaysia.
The announcement has been made on behalf of Sakura Ferroalloys
The first metal tap occurred in early May and the first High Carbon Ferro Manganese shipments will thus commence in June.
The second furnace will be hot commissioned in the third quarter 2016 and will initially produce High Carbon Ferro Manganese and then be switched to produce Silico Manganese. It is thus anticipated that the first shipments of Silico Manganese will be made during the first quarter of 2017.
The total production per annum at full capacity of both these furnaces will be approximately 110 000 metric tonnes of High Carbon Ferro Manganese and 70 000m metric tonnes of Silico Manganese.
