[Ferro-Alloys.com]According to Brazilian steel body IABr, the crude steel production in the country was 2.3 million tons in this April, down by 20.6% compare to the same month last year, and it is the lowest level since 2009.
This production fall is mainly due to reduced capacity of the national steelmakers, especially few blast furnaces of Usiminas and CSN were out of operation.
The accumulated crude steel production of the country in first four month of this year totaled at 9.7 million tons, down by 14% from same period of last year.
