[www.ferro-alloys.com] According to Alexei Mordashov, CEO of Russia´s steelmaker Severstal, his company will dispute the decision of European Commission imposing duties on the steel from Russia.
Mordashov said his company will try to find alternative markets but they will definitely dispute the decision of the European Commission.
The anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled steel from Russia and China was initiated by European Commission at the request of Eurofer. Following the results of the investigation, on February 12, European Union imposed duties on this product from Russia and China for six months.
Annual volumes of cold-rolled steel supplies to the EU from Russia are estimated at roughly 280 million USD. Steel imports from Russia, China and Ukraine make up about 60% of total imports to European Union.
