[www.ferro-alloys.com] Noble alloys prices in Europe were broadly weaker as the week ended on July 1, with signs that the traditional summer slump is now in full swing.

Ferro-molybdenum prices dropped to $17-17.50 per kg, from $17.30-17.90 previously, while molybdic oxide prices fell to $7-7.30 per lb, from $7.30-7.50. The market continues to be driven down by the expectation of an influx of material from China into Europe, sources said. "When you look at Chinese export offers, it makes sense. The question, though, is whether you’re comparing apples with oranges – Chinese material might not be suitable for everyone," a trader said.
