[Ferro-Alloys.com] In the beginning of this week, Nickel prics increased above to US$10000/ton. Yesterday (Jul. 4th), the stainless steel selling price was increased about US$47-63/ton. According to LME, Nickel price increased to US$10300/ton today (Jul. 5th), which is the highest price of this year.
Some steel mills say they have no idea if this fluctuation is the same as the one in this April and May. Nickel prices increased from the end of April and the steel mill rose about US$140/ton on the price in May, but Nickel prices dropped right after then. It caused the steel mill purchased too many stock, which led the selling prices downwrad trend.
However, if Nickel prices remain at US$10000/ton in this week, some steel mills will be ready to purchase more inventories.
