Malaysia's Export of FeSi 7,373 Tons in July
= Down by 26% from prior month, and exports to Japan and South Korea are down =
According to the foreign trade statistics of Malaysia, the export volume of ferro-silicon (Si: over 55%) in July 2016 was 7,373 tons, drastically down by 25.8% from 9,941 tons in the prior month.
In July, the exports to Australia, India, Taiwan and Italy were up, whereas the exports to South Korea and Japan were drastically down, which led to the total export volume being down from the prior month.
Now two companies such as OM Sarawak and Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. have been producing ferro-silicon in the Samalaju Industrial Park in Sarawak, Malaysia, but the company that had an actual result of shipping products as of July was only OM Sarawak.
Pertama Ferroalloys reported it made a first shipment in August and had a first tapping from No.2 furnace for ferro-silicon in early September, and the initial firing for No.3 furnace for ferro-silicon is scheduled to take place during October to November.
