[ferro-alloys.com] According to data from World Steel Association, global crude steel output touched new low since February, mainly because the major producer China enforces green policy, leading to output reduction of its steel plants. 66 countries included in the association totally produce 141.4 million tonnes crude steel, rising 5.6% on yearly basis, but dropping 2.3% on monthly basis, setting new low in monthly output since February. World Steel Association estimates with China’s reduced expenditure on infrastructure and its efforts to protect environment, its steel demand will not increase next year. (Reuters)
