[ferro-alloys.com]Chinese Special Steel Enterprise Association Stainless Steel Division made statistics of Chinese stainless steel production, import & export volume and consumption quantity from January to March in 2018.The data is as follows:

1.The production of crude stainless steel

From January to March in 2018, the total production volume of domestic crude stainless steel was 6.525 million tons which was 0.399 million tons higher than the volume in the same period last year (6.51%):

Cr-Ni series stainless steel production was 2.943 million tons. It was 0.378 million tons lower than the volume in the same period last year(11.38%)  

Cr-Mn series stainless steel production(including products that do not confirm to the international standard) was 2.19 million tons that increased by 41.88%(0.647 million tons) 

Cr series stainless steel production was 1.368 million tons that increased 124 thousand tons (9.94%). Duplex stainless steel production was 23415 tons that increased 6577 tons (39.06%)

2. The imported & export volume of stainless steel

From January to March in 2018, China imported 621 thousand tons stainless steel products.It was increased by 188.9% (393 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year.

From January to March in 2018, China exported 1.024 million tons stainless steel products. It was 123 thousand tons higher than the volume in the same period last year.

3. Consumption quantity of stainless steel

From January to March in 2018, the consumption quality of stainless steel was 5.339 million tons. Compared to the same period last year, it increased 641 thousand tons(13.7%)
