US STEEL TARIFFS OF 25% AND 10% ALUMINUM TARIFFS IMPOSED ON BRAZIL
Brazil along with European Union and other several countries, was intimidated with 25% tariffs on steel imports to the US and 10% on aluminum. On Thursday, Brazil said, they have been enforced to agree with either tariffs or quotas by the US, regardless of resolving an issue over US tariffs on steel and aluminum, described by Washington as a primary deal. On March 1, 2018, administration of Trump lay over the charged measures against Canada, European Union and Mexico, providing them 30 days acquittal. Not only that, it was also mentioned that they had a standard agreement with Australia, Argentina and Brazil that would be settled soon. The Brazilian officials commented to this is that the agreement was partial. The ministry of industry on Wednesday reported that, the authorities of US pronounced the decision to interject the negotiating process and that the added tariffs that were suspended for sometimes should be imposed instantaneously on Brazil. Brazil government is ready and is open for dialogues. According to the government, 10% tariffs on aluminum is accepted by the aluminum sector, whereas the sector of steel finds that choosing the quota system gives less harm than 25% tariff on steel. The government of Brazil also reported that last year US market accounted for 32.9 % of all the steel of Brazil and 14% of US steel import is accounted by Brazil.
