South African Ferrochrome Exports Decreased in April 2018

Ferro-Alloys.com: According to the finding and reports by the South African Customs that the South African Ferrochrome export volume has greatly decreased in the month of April 2018. After the prices of electricity hikes 10 percent per annum in S.A the prices of the production has been greatly affected. Secondly China’s interest on importing also weakened.
As per the reports, the total export volume of ferrochrome in South Africa dropped to 289100 tons in April 2018, and decreased 35400 tons as compared to March. The main importing destinations are China, Indonesia, Taiwan province of China, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Japan, Italy, Spain, Mozambique, Holland, Canada, India and other countries.
In April, the total ferrochrome exported from South Africa to China was 66600 tons, a decrease of 59200 tons as compared to March.
