Ⅲ Classification
- Cored wire is divided into single and composite cored wire according to composition of core material group. Single cored wire is a kind of cored wire that is packed with a kind of alloy powder or nonmetal powder. Composite cored wire is that is packed with two kinds or more kinds of alloy powder and one kind of alloy powder and non-metal powder.
Ⅳ. Technical Requirements
- Steel strip selected for cored wire should meet the provisions of GB/T716, GB/T13237 and YB/T5059y.
- The core powder used for cored wire should meet the provisions of GB/T2082.1, GB/T2272, GB/T244GB/T3282, GB/T3795, GB/T4138, GB/T4153, GB/T4864, GB/T5682, YB/T067, YB/T5051, YB/T5299, YB/T5308 and YB/T5358 respectively.

a As Reference Value |
- For cored wire that takes other alloy powder as the core powder, the characteristics are determined by the supplier and the demand through negotiation.
- The steel strip should be degreased or de-rusted before coating.
- Core powder of cored wire should keep dry with no other impurities.
- Alloy cored wire should be firmly coated and seamed precisely with no leak, crack, broken wire, void package, empty package. It should be clear on surface with no greasy dirt.
Ⅴ. Experiment Methods
1. Measure the section size of outer section with vernier calipers. Each plate is measured for not less than 5 times respectively at different parts with not less than 1m of interval.
2. For core powder mass per unit length, balance range that meets the requirement of this criterion is adopted.
Ⅵ. Rules of Inspection
- Technical supervision department of the producer is responsible for quality inspection of alloy cored wire.
- The finished product of cored wire is 10 plates or 20t per batch. One plate is picked from each batch and 2m ~ 10m is sampled at any part for inspection on geometric size, core powder mass per unit length and technical requirements.
- As inspecting, if any inspection item is non-conforming, the inspected plate of alloy cored wire is non-conforming. One sample should be taken from other two plates of the alloy cored wire of the same batch for re-inspection on non-conforming item (in addition to chemical composition of alloy cored wire). If one sample for re-inspection is non-conforming, the batch of alloy cored wire is non-conforming. Plate-by-plate inspection is allowed. The conforming plate is deliverable.
Ⅶ. Package, storage and transportation, mark and quality certificate
- Package
The outline out of alloy cored wire is wrapped with a piece of plastic cloth tightly. Upon the demander’s approval, no package is permitted.
- Storage and transportation
Cored wire should be stored in a dry warehouse with no corrosive gas. As freighting, moisture-proof measures should be taken.
- Mark and quality certificate
A fadeless label shall be affixed to the outer side of each plate of alloy cored wire to indicate name, standard identification, content of main element, size, weight and mass of core powder, production unit, batch number and production date. Quality certificate attached the to the batch is provided.
