[ferro-alloys.com] PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM; IDX: ANTM; ASX: ATM) announced that the Company responded to the earthquake and tsunami in Palu City, Donggala  Regency and Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi which occurred on Friday, September 28, 2018. Incorporated in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) of the Ministry of Energy and Minera Resources (MEMR), ANTAM Emergency Response Group (ERG) with 11 people consisting of 8 rescuers, 2 paramedics and 1 doctor conducted search and rescue and provided humanitarian assistance starting from October 2, 2018.

ANTAM's President Director, Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo said:

“ANTAM expressed deep condolences for the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Palu City, Donggala  Regency and Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. ANTAM hopes that the region's recovery will run fast and smoothly. ANTAM which is part of ERT MEMR, is  committed to help search and rescue activities at the location affected by the earthquake and tsunami. Search and rescue has been a part of ANTAM's competence for a long time and experienced in handling emergencies, especially disasters.”

ANTAM's ERG Team arrived on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Palu and carried out a search and rescue activities at BTN Petobo, South Palu. ANTAM’s ERG Team with other rescue teams evacuated 2 bodies in this area.

On this day, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 ANTAM's ERG team and 3 other rescue teams conducted search and rescue activities in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai region, Tawanjuka Palu.  ANTAM's ERG Team carries equipment including: lifting bag & tube, compressor tube, rescue saw, chain saw, body bag, basket stracher, LSB and medical bag.

In addition to search and rescue equipment, ANTAM also brought medical assistance and in the initial phase will also provide humanitarian assistance such as tents, blankets and baby food.
