Cliffs pushes back Ring of Fire chrome mine opening

Cliffs Natural Resources keeps pushing back the date for the opening of its Ring Of Fire chrome mine and Capreol ferrochrome smelter. The mine is now expected to begin operations in mid 2016, as opposed to the original 2015 date, while the smelter is now expected to start in early 2017 vs. early 2016. The company blamed delays in picking a smelter site, but Cliffs is also finding it difficult to negotiate with the First Nations.
