According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in August this year Turkey's ferroalloy imports rose 8.7% compared to the previous month and were down 27.25% compared to August 2011 totaling 37,718 tonnes. The value of these imports amounted to USD 51.6 million increasing by 3.45% as compared to July and down 35.45% YoY.

In the first 8 months of 2012, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 279,746 tonnes decreasing 6.7% compared to January to August 2011.

Imports from Ukraine in August this year amounted to 14,073 tonnes falling by 15.4% while imports from Russia in August amounted to 6,328 tonnes up 33% both compared to the same month of 2011. Meanwhile, India exported 5,832 tonnes of ferroalloys to Turkey in August up 4.7% YoY.
