[Ferro-Alloys.Com]Japan imports of low-carbon ferrochrome rose to 5,518 mt in September, up 61.4% from August and up by 60.2% from September 2011. Russia supplied 2,487 mt, up 26.6% from August and 5.6% from September 2011. South Africa contributed 1,590 mt in September compared to 702 mt in August and zero in September 2011. For the first nine months of 2012, Japan imported 37,250 mt, down 10.9% from the same 2011 period. Russia accounted for 51.8% (19,297 mt) while Kazakhstan accounted for 22.2% (8,269 mt). Imports from South Africa were 18.1% (6,745 mt) while China

supplied 6% (2,235 mt).
