[Ferro-Alloys.com] Export prices for Chinese plate held steady over the past week, though producers issued a wide range of offers due to their varied supply levels.

 

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for December shipments of steel heavy plate export, fob China main port was $440-450 per tonne for the week ended Tuesday November 5, unchanged from a week earlier. A Shanghai-based trader said that a steelmaker in northern China had sold several thousand tonnes of plate to South America at $440 per tonne fob last week. He noted that this was the lowest price that Chinese mills were willing to offer. (Metalbulletin)
