[Ferro-Alloys.com]The Chinese ferrochrome industry is entering an era of meager profit.

On 8th of December, 2012, the annual meeting of Chinese ferroalloy website (www.ferro-alloys.com) was held. The meeting looked into the future of the Chinese ferroalloy industry.

A brilliant speech was made by the ferroalloy industry expert Mr. Li Qiang. Mr. Li analyzed the 2012 chrome industry in the following ways: first, the speed of Chinese economy growth is reducing. Second, the stainless steel industry is slowing down in both manufacturing and marketing. Third, the profit margins are getting lower and lower. Forth, domestic chrome products are competing with imported products. Fifth, the practice of hoarding goods was detrimental. Sixth, the strike in South Africa has added the cost.

At the end he arrived at following conclusions:

First, the chrome industry is very promising. Second, the production of ferrochrome is growing. Third, there will be more sources of the chrome ores. Fourth, the competition coming from outside of the country is going to be fiercer. Fifth, the technology needs to be developed faster. Sixth, the industry needs to be consolidated at greater speed. And finally, the Chinese ferrochrome industry is entering an era of meager profit. Low profitability is pushing the whole industry to be upgraded.
