[Ferro-Alloys.com] Japan's steel export volume was 2.429 million tons in June, down 16.7% year-on-year and 3.1% month on month, according to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
In the same month, Japan's export volume of ordinary steel products was 1.5346 million tons, down 20.2% year-on-year; the export volume of special steel products was 374900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 35.7%.
In June, Japan exported 629300 tons of steel products to China, a year-on-year increase of 53.9%; followed by South Korea, the export volume was 371000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.5%; and 233000 tons, 195800 tons and 46400 tons to Thailand, Taiwan, Chian and the United States respectively.
From January to June this year, Japan exported 17.708 million tons of steel, an increase of 4.8% over the same period of last year.
