[Ferro-Alloys.com] A total of 1,500 China-Europe freight trains have passed through the border port of Erenhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region since the beginning of this year, sources with the local railway company said Friday.

 

The 1,500th train this year entered the port around 9:45 am on Friday on its journey to Russia from the eastern Chinese city of Hefei.

 

The listed arm of steelmaker HBIS Group Co Ltd announced that the group’s phase one steel plant project in the coastal city of Legang in Hebei province of China has become operational with a total iron output capacity of 7.32 million tonnes and steel output of 7.47 million tonnes per year. Hebei Iron and Steel Group’s subsidiary Tangshan Iron and Steel Co started 2,922 cubic meter blast furnace No 1, which has an annual capacity of 2.5 million tonnes and 2,050 mm hot rolled coil production line with an annual capacity of 4.1 million tonnes. The bar and wire rod production lines of Tangsteel’s new factory will be put into production in mid-October.

 

A new steel processing plant built by Shanxi Tongcai Industry and Trade became operational on Aug 17, in the steel industrial park in Quwo county in Shanxi province, adding to the region's strength in advanced manufacturing.
