Indonesian media reported that the capital of West Sulawesi province, Mamuju, only 34 kilometers from the epicenter, many buildings collapsed. Among them, part of the provincial government building collapsed, two security personnel trapped in the ruins, another part of the hotel and hospital buildings were damaged to varying degrees.  
It is reported that Sulawesi Island is a large island in central Indonesia, is also the 11th largest island in the world, its mineral resources are very rich, Indonesia nickel mineral resources will be gathered in Sulawesi Island and nearby islands. The nickel resources of Sulawesi Island account for about 80% of the total nickel resources of Indonesia.
