In December, the United States imported the largest number of finished steel from South Korea, 222,000 short tons, a 75 % increase from a month earlier; Imports of 86,000 short tons of finished steel from the Netherlands, an increase of 69% from a month earlier; Imports of 66,000 short tons from Germany, the same the previous month; Imports of 56,000 short tons from Japan, an increase of 21% from a month earlier.
The report shows that in 2020, the US steel imports were 22.019 million short tons, down 21.2% from a year earlier. Among them, the finished steel imports were 16.139 million short tons, a decrease of 23.3% from a year earlier.
