Indonesia’s state-owned mining company PT Aneka Tambang (ANTAM) said in a statement on February 13 that it plans to increase nickel production to 8.44 million wet metric tons by 2021. This is 77% higher than the 2020 production of 4.76 million wet metric tons.
The nickel mine sales target for 2021 is 6.71 million wet metric tons, an increase of 103% over the unaudited 3.3 million wet metric tons in 2020.
The ferronickel production and sales targets are 26,000 tons in 2021, while the 2020 production and sales targets are 25,970 tons of nickel and 26,163 tons of nickel, respectively.
The target production of bauxite in 2021 reached 3 million wet metric tons, an increase of 93% over the 1.55 million wet metric tons in 2020.
The 2021 sales target is 2.73 million wet metric tons, an increase of 122% over 2020 sales of 1.23 million wet metric tons.
