[Ferro-Alloys.com] Indian steel company JSW announced that its crude steel output in April fell by 5% from the previous month to 1.37 million tons.
According to a document submitted to the stock exchange, production in March was 1.45 million tons. The output of flat rolled products fell 9% to 957,000 tons, and the output of long rolled products fell 5% to 337,000 tons.
The company said that the average capacity utilization rate in June was 91%, which was lower than 96% in March, because the supply of liquid oxygen for medical use is prioritized to increase steel production.
From January to March this year, JSW Steel's crude steel output increased by 6% year-on-year to 4.19 million tons.
