In May, crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 128.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%; EU crude steel production was 13.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 32.7%; North America crude steel production was 10.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 47.7%; South America Crude steel output was 3.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 49.7%; crude steel production in the Middle East was 3.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%; CIS crude steel output was 9.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.

From the perspective of the top ten steel-producing countries (regions), in May, crude steel production in Mainland China was 99.5 million tons, an increase of 6.6% year-on-year; crude steel production in India was 9.2 million tons, an increase of 46.9% year-on-year; crude steel production in Japan was 840 tons 10,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 42.2%; U.S. crude steel production was 7.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 47.6%; Russia’s crude steel production was 6.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.0%; South Korea’s crude steel production was 6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%; German crude steel production was 3.5 million tons, an increase of 35.5% year-on-year; Turkish crude steel production was 3.2 million tons, an increase of 42.4% year-on-year; Brazil's crude steel production was 3.2 million tons, an increase of 40.1% year-on-year; Iranian crude steel production was 2.6 million tons , An increase of 7.7% year-on-year.
