【Ferro-alloys.com】Brazil’s “Economic Value” reported on July 22 that, according to data released by the Brazilian Iron and Steel Association (Instituto Ao Brasil) this Thursday, in the first half of 2021, Brazil’s crude steel output was 18 million tons, an increase of 24% over the same period last year. The sales volume was 12 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 43.9%, and the apparent consumption of steel rose from 9.42 million tons in the same period last year to 14.03 million tons, achieving a substantial increase of 48.9%, setting a record high since 2014. Based on the good performance of the steel industry in the first half of the year, the Brazilian Iron and Steel Association has raised the growth expectations of Brazil's steel production, domestic sales, and apparent consumption in 2021 to 14%, 18.5%, and 24.1%, respectively.
