[Ferro-Alloys.com] Vnipipromtechnologies JSC has developed a test program for conducting open-pit mining operations at chrome ore deposits in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District
Vnipipromtechnologies JSC (Engineering Center of ARMZ Uranium Holding/The Mining Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) has developed a program for conducting pilot tests for conducting open-pit mining operations at chrome ore deposits in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
The Engineering Center performed the work in accordance with the contract with the CHEMK Industrial Group (Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combine JSC). Pilot tests are planned at the Tsentralnoye-2, Fishtail and Poloishorskoye-1 deposits of the Southern Ore Field of the Rai-Iz massif.
The planned increase in production is necessary for the development of the domestic ferroalloy industry, which will allow CHEMK to double the volume of output of finished products.
"We have proved safe methods of conducting open-pit mining operations at the fields. The program of pilot tests was developed in a short time. This will allow the customer to start mining operations at the deposits of the Southern Ore Field of the Rai-Iz massif at least a year earlier than planned, " said Kirill Rysev, Development Director of Vnipipromtechnologies JSC.
