【Ferro-alloys.com】Vertically integrated manganese and ferroalloy producer OM Holdings has exceeded FY2021 guidance, posting production of 131,059t ferrosilicon (FY2020: 167,443t), 216,539t manganese alloys (227,406t) and commissioning phase output of 99,824t manganese sinter ore at its OM Materials smelting plant in Sarawak, Malaysia.
OM says 12 of the 16 furnaces at the Samalaju Industrial Park complex were in operation at end-Dec, with 6 producing FeSi and 6 producing manganese alloys.
The company aims to convert 2 of the remaining furnaces to produce manganese alloy and the others to produce silicon metal in 2022.
FY2021 sales were 113,783t ferrosilicon (171,546t) and 203,938t manganese alloys (231,129t) and 7,132t in trial production of manganese sinter ore.
Total production from OM’s 100%-owned Bootu Creek manganese mine in Australia’s NT produced 854,487t @ 28.42% Mn (738,019t @ 28.1%) as mining of the final viable pit in Dec.
