[Ferro-Alloys.com]Indian private-sector producer JSW Steel's crude steel output rose by 10pc from a year earlier to 1.73mn t.
Its production of flat-rolled products rose by 9pc from a year earlier to 1.26mn t during February, while output of long-rolled products increased by 2pc against the previous year to 375,000t.
JSW's steel production has been rising on a capacity ramp-up at its Dolvi plant in Maharashtra state on strong demand from the infrastructure sector and rising exports since the removal of export duties on steel products in November 2022.
The steelmaker has lowered its output guidance for domestic operations to 23.6mn t from 24.3mn t projected earlier, while its sales guidance has been lowered to 22.6mn t from 23.3mn t previously because of maintenance at a JSW Ispat Specialty Products plant last year. argusmedia
