[Fellow]South Sulawesi Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Representative Head Supendi said that South Sulawesi’s nickel exports to Japan as of April 2023 had reached US$486.7 (US) out of the total exports of US$815 million.

Sulsel’s nickel exports to Japan reached US$486 million

South Sulawesi Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Representative Head Supendi said that South Sulawesi’s nickel exports to Japan as of April 2023 had reached US$486.7 (US) out of the total exports of US$815 million.
“Nickel has always been South Sulawesi’s mainstay commodity and its contribution is always greater than all export commodities,” said Supendi.
He said that South Sulawesi’s total exports from January to April 2023 were recorded at US$815.85 million and nickel commodities always contributed more than half of total transactions.
The biggest export destination country for nickel, which is one of the raw materials for making lithium batteries, is to Japan.
