China's coal imports are expected to reach around 450 million metric tons this year in response to growing demands, marking a historic high for China's coal imports, said the China National Coal Association on Monday.
Data from the General Administration of Customs showed that the country imported a total of 383.64 million tons of coal from January to October this year, a year-on-year increase of 66.8 percent.
The prediction was made during the press conference of the 2024 China Coal Trade Fair, scheduled to take place from Dec 5th to 8th in Tangshan, Hebei province and will be organized by the CNCA.
At the event, major coal companies will be invited to sign mid-to-long-term coal contracts for the next year. The agenda also includes an entrepreneurial forum, a coal economic analysis seminar, various thematic sessions and specialized activities focusing on coal transportation by rail. | chinadaily.com.cn
